Every year, Latin American countries export about 200 billion dollars worth of commodities and manufactured products into the United States. The region is growing in prominence and the national governments strive to stimulate expansion in manufacturing capacity and increase across-the-border transactions. Exporting manufactured goods and commodities is a priority for Latin American countries. Numerous programs to promote this activity are in place. In Brazil, for example, the government projects a 50 billion dollars increase in exports by the year 2002.
eCaravan is building a trading engine that will enhance Latin American presence in U.S. markets, boosting product exports and strengthening the region's position in the international trade. By broadening exposure of Latin American products to US buyers, and streamlining the international trading process eCaravan intends to capture a significant share of these transactions.
