Content Development: Music Reviews

Update: believe it or not, there's new content in the Content section! In early 2003 I began writing occasional record reviews for Splendid, a long-running music Web site. Following are some of my early pieces — more links will be added as new reviews are published:

The following pieces were written for Scene, a short-lived free weekly in Washington DC, during the fall of 1994. As I mentioned on an earlier version of this site, I have a slight complex about popular criticism in general and music journalism in particular — the majority of it seems to say more about the writer than it does about the work in question. Nevertheless, as an avowed music fan I continue to write about it, hopefully with as little ego as possible...
